Environmental Responsibility
Our vision at Themba Trees is to help preserve the environment by adhering to the following practises:
- Recycling all the nursery’s waste (glass & plastic etc)
- Shredding and composting office waste paper
- Composting all organic material
- Composting all our cuttings and green waste
- Reducing carbon emissions by using locally sourced materials
Social Responsibility:
The heart of Themba Trees is to give hope and sense of place to its employees and organisations that seek to improve the environment and well-being of individuals. We strive to impart to our local youth, the importance of the conservation of our environment. To realise this vision, Themba Trees supports numerous Environmental groups and NGO’s. Themba Trees also creates awareness in our surrounding communities for the Arbor Week by facilitating the distribution and planting of trees to schools, NGO’s and municipalities. Each institution receives indigenous trees, a bag of compost and bone meal as well as instructions for planting and caring for the trees.
